Birthday Joys

I stocked up on all my favorite snacks and drinks yesterday. I also got something we could eat for dinner and lunch the next couple of days so I don't have to cook. Reason being, tomorrow's my birthday and I don't want to have any stressful moments. Lauren's coming into town from NY and a few of us are going out to dinner. Then on Sunday we're meeting a bunch of friends at the Renaissance Fest to hang out and be merry all day. It should be a great birthday!

Here are a few of my favorite things (sing with me):
pistachios
popcorn
cheese and crackers
chicken salad
potato salad
grapes
olives
frozen pizza (I prefer this over pizza delivery, I'm aware that it's strange. :)
black cherry ice cream

As you read in Jason's blog, I also got ingredients for a yummy new drink creation and I picked up a couple 6-packs of our favorite beers.

Toast, My Morning Glory

I love toast. My love for toast started when I was very little and my mom would make me cinnamon and sugar toast when I wasn't feeling well. It now reminds me of my mom and being a young girl. My favorite kinds of spreads are butter with peanut butter, butter with grape or blackberry jelly, and of course butter with cinnamon and sugar. I like trying new spreads, especially homemade ones I buy at the farmer's market. It's morning comfort food for me. It's simply delicious.

Say Cheese!

I don't have much on my mind right now to write about. Rainy Saturday mornings make it harder to get enthused. So here's an easy subject for me to swallow right now.

Cheese, I love cheese.  My favorites are mozzarella, Muenster, Havarti, and brie. Grilled cheeses are delicious. As I've already said in a past entry I love cheese omelets. Cheese is fantastic with crackers, jelly, and grapes with a glass of red wine. Man, I'm getting hungry.
