Fun Times Close by

I really looking forward to this weekend. It's My Birthday Weekend! Friday I have a wedding to shoot, which will be a lot of fun hard work, then on Saturday Jason and I are chilling and my friend Lauren in coming into town, there's a few street festivals that day and then we might stop by Julianna's husbands 30th birthday surprise. Sunday is the day we're celebrating my birthday at the MD Renaissance Festival. It's always a great time. A few of my friends should be stopping by. It's weird for me to finally start seeing weekends for what they really are instead of just more days off for the unemployed. I feel like I'm fully employed with my photography gigs, Our365, Arbonne start up work and with studying for the Praxis every night. I wish I could see the results in monetary form, but it will accumulate with time.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week we're going to Ocean City with Jason's Dad, Step Mom, Stephanie, John and little Jackson. That should be a great little break from all the mind-scrabbling hecticness that is my life.

Goodbye Mr. Hughes and Thank You!

We lost a brilliant writer and director yesterday, Mr. John Hughes. He created such wonderful 80s masterpieces from my childhood. My top John Hughes movies in this order are:

1) Ferris Bueller's Day Off
2) Sixteen Candles
3) Breakfast Club
4) Some Kind of Wonderful
5) Pretty in Pink
6) Mr. Mom
7) Uncle Buck
8) The Great Outdoors

I also love the Lampoon Vacation films, but didn't know where they fit on my best of list. I need to see Weird Science and Planes and Trains and Automobiles again. John wrote all of these classics, and directed a few of them. He really knew how to write dialogue for the angst teenager residing in us all. He was definitely one of a kind. I would love to have a John Hughes movie marathon. These films bring back such great childhood memories. I rarely remember movie dialogue, but when I watch a Hughes film I can quote them also all the way through. I felt a real connection to Molly Ringwald, growing up an awkward strawberry blond with the fairest skin. These films touched me and were so hilarious . They will forever be on my best of lists, thanks Mr. Hughes.

Films from my Youth

I love watching movies from my childhood. Films have always been a love of mine and tonight I watched a childhood fav "Stand By Me." Little River Phoenix can still make my heart race. He had this great magnetic demeanor about him when he appeared in films. Then you have Cory Feldman, Wil Wheaton, and the now skinny and famous, Jerry O'Connell. I remember watching that film so many times when I was young.

That and Goonies with little Sean Astin and once again Corey Feldman, Labyrinth with the beautiful Jennifer Connelly and the sexy Bowie, Can't Buy Me Love with the forever gorgeous Patrick Dempsey, and all of the John Hughes' 1980's classics. These films never seem to get old for me, they make me recall such great memories. There are so many other films from the 80s that I just adore. Sometimes I'm not in the mood to analyze a film's plot structure and it's cinematography. Instead I want to sit back and watch an old favorite for the fun of it or to make fun of it as I see fit.
