Tim's Glorious Creations

Tim Burton is the cinematic mastermind behind such films as Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Sweeney Todd, Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood, Big Fish, and the newest installment Alice in Wonderland. He is such a creative genius. He always relies on the same cast to pull off the roles he's needing to fill. The brilliant Johnny Depp and Tim's wife Helena Bonham Carter are among his choices. He creates such amazing fantasy worlds. The stills from the newest piece, Alice in Wonderland, look so creepy and memorizing. It's going to be such an adventure to see on the big screen- I can't wait! It brings back the idea of creepy is good and scaring you children at a young age is harmless. It brings back memories of seeing Labyrinth for the first time and being scared out of my mind, but then immediately wanting to watch it again. Thanks Tim for bringing back the childlike fantasy adventures that make filmmaking so breathtaking and memorable. A trailer has not been released yet, but here are some of the stills that give you a good idea.

80 Movies that Rock

I love old 80s movies that make me think of my childhood. Last night Jason and I watched The Burbs with Tom Hanks, one he had never seen before. It was still a classic in my eyes. The other Tom Hanks movie from that same time was The Money Pit. What a forever hilarious movie. Watching these movies again just make me feel good and recall the days when things were more simple. Others that bring me back are The Goonies, Labyrinth, Pretty in Pink, Dream a Little Dream, License to Drive, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Neverending Story, Mannequin, The Lost Boys, Stand By Me, Project X, The Toy, and Teen Wolf, to name a few. One I'm somewhat ashamed of is my obsession for The Pirate Movie. I watch this movie over and over again and sing along with it. had a little girl crush on the two leads, Kristy McNichol and Christopher Atkins.

Hey Jason, are there any of these movies above you haven't seen? I would love to continue to educate you on bad 80s movies and don't worry I won't subject you to The Pirate Movie again.

Films from my Youth

I love watching movies from my childhood. Films have always been a love of mine and tonight I watched a childhood fav "Stand By Me." Little River Phoenix can still make my heart race. He had this great magnetic demeanor about him when he appeared in films. Then you have Cory Feldman, Wil Wheaton, and the now skinny and famous, Jerry O'Connell. I remember watching that film so many times when I was young.

That and Goonies with little Sean Astin and once again Corey Feldman, Labyrinth with the beautiful Jennifer Connelly and the sexy Bowie, Can't Buy Me Love with the forever gorgeous Patrick Dempsey, and all of the John Hughes' 1980's classics. These films never seem to get old for me, they make me recall such great memories. There are so many other films from the 80s that I just adore. Sometimes I'm not in the mood to analyze a film's plot structure and it's cinematography. Instead I want to sit back and watch an old favorite for the fun of it or to make fun of it as I see fit.
