Raw Emotion

I really get excited for independent films that capture true raw emotional themes among family, friends, or relationships. The ones that dig deep and come out inspiring. The direction, the writing, and the acting have to be believable for this to be achieved. These films always take the conflict a step further and you become dumbfounded and spellbound as you watch. These films bring real subject matters never thought of into perspective. I am always looking for the next film that will achieve such dynamic beauty. Favorites that I categorize as these kind of films are American Beauty, The Squid and the Whale, Brick and Mysterious Skin both starring the wonderful Joseph Gorden-Levitt, You Can Count on Me and The Savages both with the beautiful Laura Linney, David Gordon Green's All the Real Girls, The Ice Storm, and Sarah Polley in The Sweet Hereafter and My Life Without Me. If you want a tearjerker or a film that makes you ponder your own existence please check out any of these extraordinary films.

There are a couple films coming out that look to reflect these kind of subject matters. I'm not promising they will be all you hope for, but they look great in the preview.Enjoy!
